Q.Is there any evidence in the books? A.It is rumored that Dumbledore may have had a relationship with Gellert Grindelwald before they became enemys. J.K. Rowling describes their relationship as close freinds. There is no more evidence than that.

Q.Is J.K. Rowling just saying it to attract attention? A. No J.K. Rowling has always pictured Dumbledore as gay. Years before she announced this she had told a young fan who asked why Dumbledore never married. The fan did not spread it around. So when Rowling was asked this same question by the press, she told them that she had always pictured Dumbledore as gay.
