I noticed that there are a few images of book covers from different countries in Category:Covers, such as this and this, but most of them are not used on any page in the wiki. Is there any particular reason they're not on the pages for the respective books and/or Cover art? I added the French cover to the gallery on Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, which already had all the US and UK covers and the Dutch one.

This page has covers for all 7 books in 6 European languages. Would it be OK if I uploaded those images and added them to the respective book pages, using the same format I did on the Philosopher's Stone page for the French and Dutch ones? Or would it violate the image use policy, since that's not an official source? If that source isn't OK, would it be OK if I found the images on the international publishers' websites? (That would be more difficult, but probably not impossible.) I think a gallery of translation covers would be a good addition to the cover art page, but I don't want to step on anyone's toes or go against a previous decision. —Josiah Rowe 16:08, November 23, 2010 (UTC)

The website seems legitimate (at least I recognize the American and British covers as official), although verifying the images on the publisher's websites would be best (especially as some of the pictures seem rather poorly cropped). But sure, a gallery of covers from the various internationsl editions would be fine for the books' articles. - Nick O'Demus 08:32, November 25, 2010 (UTC)
Thanks for repying, Nick. I'll take a look and see what I can find at the various publishers' websites.
By the way: would it be possible to move the French cover images to new file names? As it is, they're very strangely named: for example, Chamber of Secrets is at File:French Book Cover4.jpg, Prisoner of Azkaban is at File:French Book Cover1.jpg, and Goblet of Fire is at File:French Book Cover3.jpg. That naming scheme doesn't make any sense, but it would probably be easier if the images were moved before they were added to the relevant pages. (Also, there are two copies of the French Philosopher's Stone cover, one at File:French Book Cover11.jpg and the other at File:French cover Philosopher's.jpg; one of those should probably be deleted.) —Josiah Rowe 08:42, November 25, 2010 (UTC)
I moved the File:French Book CoverX pics, but there seem to be some differences in those two Philosopher's Stone covers, besides just the text and file size (for example, look at Hermione's hair, Hedwig's cage, and the castle in the background). - Nick O'Demus 09:45, November 25, 2010 (UTC)
