I just saw :File:Dudley.jpg. It comes from here: http://www.encyclopedie-hp.org/muggles/dudley.php. This is my website, the official Harry Potter Lexicon in French. I assembled several screenshots myself and made slight adjustments to make this picture, since the camera goes from Dudley's feet to his head and that shot basically doesn't exist (like the lamp being removed on the left or the parents being not seen that way at the same time of that Dudley's head frame). The Metadata infos are also the same on my file. Same for :File:Hannah.jpg and :File:Lavender1.jpg. I guess there might be some others, I don't know.

Anyway. Although basically this belongs to Warner Bros., I think this is sad to take pics on personal websites to throw it into a wiki anonymity, which also suggest that wiki users might take much more than pics (see what I mean). Furthermore, people will then to incorrectly think the personal website author takes pics from the wikis, and not the opposite. Klow 17:56, 9 April 2009 (UTC)

I just saw File:Dudley.jpg. Same for File:Hannah.jpg and File:Lavender1.jpg.

I appreciate the situation, and thank you for bring it to our attention. Obviously, we cannot account for the source of all image uploads, and it may have been that the users who uploaded these images found them elsewhere as well. As I see it, there are two ways to solve this problem. Firstly, we could remove the images and attempt to replace them with ones drawn from our own sources. The second is to ensure credit to be given to your site for any images that definitely originated on your pages. For instance, I have seen the picture of Hannah on many different sites. What do you think of these. Personally, I would prefer option two, since it allows us to keep the images we have, as well as providing links to your site from here. - Cavalier OneGryffindorcrest(Wizarding Wireless Network) 18:46, 9 April 2009 (UTC)

Thanks for that answer. I was afraid I might get immature or rude comments or nothing at all. I think the best way would more or less do nothing, since you can't track the whole web for possible "stolen" content. Just add the source for the Dudley pic, since it's heavily edited. For the others, it's just simple cropping, size changes and some contrast/sharpening editing that anyone could do, so I don't really mind. I just wanted to point this, and was not asking for something in particular. Klow 18:55, 9 April 2009 (UTC)

No problems. Please be assured that any editor who would have responded with inappropriate behaviour towards this information would have been met with a ban under our policy guidelines. I am very pleased that we can resolve this in a manner that hopefully will benefit us both. As such, I will be adding attribution to the Dudley image in question immediately. Thank you for your co-operation in this matter. - Cavalier OneGryffindorcrest(Wizarding Wireless Network) 23:13, 9 April 2009 (UTC)
Thanks to you! You seem to have a pretty solid team. I'm bureaucrat on the Half-Life wiki and even though we don't have any problems, it's sometimes hard to have a consistent and efficient admin team. And now I now why your nickname is familiar, I saw it on Wookieepedia! ;-) Klow 23:37, 9 April 2009 (UTC)
Thanks for the kind words. I also recognise your nickname from the Wook. We do what we can here, and it seems to work :) - Cavalier OneGryffindorcrest(Wizarding Wireless Network) 09:18, 14 April 2009 (UTC)
