In the order of the phenox. Why couldn't harry just use the mirror, that black gave him as a gift if he ever needed him, to contact black instead of using professors umbridges office fireplace??? This would of prevented him getting caught or even entised to the deparment of misteries. There is probly something I am missing.
The easy answer is that Harry's deliberately forgot about it. He knew it wasn't safe for Sirius to leave Grimmauld Place, since the Ministry were looking for him and knew he was in London. Harry didn't want to be responsible for Sirius rushing off and then getting caught. So he puts away hidden in his truck in a pair of old socks he never wears and then forgets all about it.
