Its explained but how did voldermort's soul come into harry?
It was transferred into him on the night he killed his parents, just like some of his powers - for example he passed on to harry the ability to talk to snakes :) StevieLouise 02:48, September 3, 2009 (UTC)
- That piece of Voldemort's soul WAS the source of those powers. Voldemort had made his soul so unstable by the countless murders he committed and through the creation of multiple Horcruxes, that when the Killing Curse rebounded, a piece of it broke off and latched on to the only other living soul in the vicinity; Harry's. When that piece of soul was destroyed in Deathly Hallows, Harry lost his mental connection to Volemort and the ability to speak Parseltongue.
- Harry was an "unofficial" Horcrux. JKR said that there is a specific process for creating Horcruxes, and that since that process was never applied to Harry, he isn't technically the same as the other Horcruxes, although he does serve the same purpose. You can read about it in this interview.

I believe voldemort had grown invincible such that he couldn't be dead.So when the killing curse rebounded it tried to take away his life but succeeded with the soul only and the soul can't stay free. So it searched for a living body and found Harry

As far as I know, Voldemort tampered with magic deep into the dark arts. He already made horcruxes but this made his soul unstable. When the killing curse rebounded on him, a piece of his soul was ripped from the whole and settled in the only living thing, Harry. Harry now has some of Voldemort's powers, like parceltongue and even a connection to his mind. Of course, Voldemort never meant to make Harry a horcrux, he intended to USE Harry's life to MAKE a horcrux. HoneiVladmir
