One thing that has stricken me as rather odd is that people seemed to recognize Harry before he was ever seen in the public eye.

Harry recalled "that strangers in the street seemed to know him...A tiny man in a violet top hat had bowed to him once while out shopping with Aunt Petunia and Dudley." "A wild woman...waved merrily at him once on a bus." "A bald man in a very long purple coat had actually shaken his hand in the street the other day and then walked away without a word."

Granted, of course people knew who he was, but he was only one year old when he defeated Voldemort, and even if they knew what he looked like then, which most people probably didn't, how would they know how what he looked like as he grew up, and how would they recognize him? The lightning bolt scar on his forehead. The entire wizarding world knows how he got it, and it's even mentioned several times that Harry finds it uncomfortable when people stare at it. --Cubs Fan (Talk to me) 05:58, December 16, 2009 (UTC)

Oh. I guess that makes sense, but it seems like that wouldn't exactly be super visible under his hair, plus how would people know about the scar? Do you guys think it's safe to assume that the scar became as famous as him? NeebsLucas11 14:37, December 16, 2009 (UTC)Gabey!
