When Harry Potter entered the Chamber of Secrets and met a magical manifestation of a teenage Tom Riddle, Tom Riddle seemed to know about Harry already. Even more to the point, Tom Riddle was especially interested in killing Harry once he learned of him. How did this version of Tom Riddle know so much about Harry?

If this manifestation is just the part of Tom Riddle's soul that was stored in the diary, then wouldn't that part of the soul only know what Tom Riddle knew up to the moment the diary was converted to a horcrux? As far as I know, a teenage Tom Riddle never knew about Harry Potter.

Or was that part of the soul trapped within the book somehow connected to the still living Voldemort so that whatever Voldemort knew as an adult, then the teenage-appearing Tom Riddle in the Chamber of Secrets also knew?

""Well, you see, Ginny told me all about you, Harry," said Riddle. "Your whole fascinating history." His eyes roved over the lightning scar on Harry's forehead, and their expression grew hungrier. "I knew I must find out more about you, talk to you, meet you if I could."

Ginny has been writting in my diary for months and told me all about you —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 67.53.64.100 (talkcontribs).
