"P-P-Potter, stammered Proffesor Quirrell, grasping Harry's hand, 'c-can't t-tell you how pleased I am to meet you." ADR1 01:16, August 25, 2010 (UTC)

He was not yet possessed by his master. --JKochRavenclawcrest(Owl Me!) 02:03, August 25, 2010 (UTC)
That's what I assumed, thanks for verifying ADR1 03:13, August 25, 2010 (UTC)
Yeah, it wasn't until after he failed to acquire the stone from Diagon Alley that Voldemort possessed Quirrell. --JKochRavenclawcrest(Owl Me!) 03:15, August 25, 2010 (UTC)
I don't know about the books but observing the scenes of the movie version, it's possible that happened either one of these possibilities: 1) Quirrell could touch Harry's hand because Voldemort was at the back of his head and not in his hand; 2) Quirrell could touch Harry's hand because he haven't touched the Philosopher's Stone yet, so Harry didn't have the power that the stone gave to him. Another question that I didn't want to make a new topic for. Why does this wiki say Hermione was born in 1979, but Harry was born in 1980? Aren't they the same age?ADR1 03:41, August 25, 2010 (UTC)

The school year at Hogwarts starts 1 September. If you turned 11 between 1 September the previous year and 1 September this year, then you go. So, Hermione was born 19 September, 1979, so both she and Harry who was born 31 July 1980, were 11 years old when the term started. She is one of the oldest kids in their year; whereas, Harry is one of the youngest. --JKochRavenclawcrest(Owl Me!) 03:45, August 25, 2010 (UTC)
