I was re-reading the books and I when reading Dumbledore's explanation when Harry "dies" I thought about something and I would like your opinions.

When Lily died to protect Harry, she created a protection for him, that's why when Voldemort casted the killing curse on Harry, it rebounded and nearly destroyed Voldemort.

The charm was supposed to last until Harry turned 17, as long as he lived with the Dursleys.

Now, in the Goblet of Fire, when Harry faced Voldemort in the graveyard, Voldemort once again tries to kill Harry using the killing curse, but Harry casted a spell towards Voldemort and both spells met in the air.

The reason was that the wands shared a common core and because of that, the killing curse never touched Harry.

However, what if it did? Harry was 14 and still called the Dursley's home his home, so the protection charm was still active.

If the killing curse had touched Harry, wouldn't it have destroyed Voldemort as it did when Harry was a baby? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Jrb100 (talkcontribs).

As stated in GOF, Harry's sacrificial protection was transferred in part to Voldemort when he used Harry's blood to create his new body, therefore effectively rendering it void. Though there's no real answer to this question, it is every indication in the books that Harry would have died if not for the Priori Incantatem effect caused by the twin cores. -- 1337star (Drop me a line!) 19:27, February 27, 2015 (UTC)
I am not sure about that. In the Deathly Hallows, when Harry talks to Dumbledore in King Cross station, Dumbledore tells him that when Voldemort used Harry's blood, the protection charm that his mother has given him was transferred to Voldemort, but the effects were that they were then tethered, meaning the protection would stand as long as Voldemort was alive.
The fact is that in the Deathy Hallows, Voldemort's curse failed to kill Harry and it did rebound on Voldemort although it did not destroyed him, whether it was because the Elder wand refused to kill its master, because of the charm or the connection between the two, I don't know, but Dumbledore says clearly that the protection was still there.
Furthermore, at the beginning of the Deathly Hallows, both Moody and Voldemort and the death eaters discuss about Harry's protection that will wear off when Harry turn 17, and Moody says that it's better to leave before, even though Harry will lose his protection earlier because Voldemort would attack him after his birthday.
I am not sure if the curse would have destroyed Voldemort but I believe I would not have worked, as it did not work in the forbidden forest. Remember also that Dumbledore was happy when he knew that Voldemort has used Harry's blood.
this is a fragment of Dumbledore's talk to Harry in the Deathly Hallows:
“He took my blood,’ said Harry.
‘Precisely!’ said Dumbledore. ‘He took your blood and rebuilt his living body with it! Your blood in his veins, Harry, Lily’s protection inside both of you! He tethered you to life while he lives!’
‘I live … while he lives? But I thought … I thought it was the other way round! I thought we both had to die? Or is it the same thing?”
