Forums: Index > The Wizengamot archive > Fmous witches and wizard cards being considered cannon

I was reading the page for Merlin and I heard saw that almost all of the information in the article, and for some other articles, is from Famous withches and wizards cards. This is not in conflict with the book, but still, is it considered cannon?-Harry Potter Fantic 1 P.S. I meant to say famous, how do I change it?-Harry Potter Fantic 1 22:00, 4 December 2007 (UTC)Harry Potter Fantic 1

I fixed it. For later reference, add {{Title|''The new title''}} -Matoro183 (Talk) 22:55, 4 December 2007 (UTC)
While the cards themselves aren't as canonically binding as the books, JKR herself actually wrote most of them, or supplied the information for them. Several have appeared on her website in the Wizard of the Month section, and others (such as Merlin, Agrippa, and several others) have been referenced in some of the books. Additionally, they are licensed materials, so they are a valid source for this wiki. I'm planning to create articles for all the ones we don't already have. - Cavalier One(Wizarding Wireless Network) 23:47, 4 December 2007 (UTC)
I'm working on a policy page for what is considered "Canon" here. Its not really official yet but it has some thoughts on it -- it you have any ideas feel free to use the talk page for it! -- DarkJedi613 (Talk) 14:25, 5 December 2007 (UTC)
