Just wondering, are we absolutely sure that the films take place the same time as the books? First of all, the anachronisms! It's killing me to think that they worked so hard on all these little details and then let everything look like it was from a new decade. Second, the only thing we have going for the films being the same time as the books is James and Lily Potters' graves; is that really enough to make a blanket statement that they're the same dates between books and films? There's also the dates on the Black Family Tree in OOTP and Tom Riddle Sr.'s grave in GOF. Yeah, the anachronisms are a pain, but it seems the prop-department and costumers didn't feel a need to go out of their way to keep things period-specific to the 90's just to accommodate the 5% or so of the audience who would actually notice. But, in almost every instance where an actual date was shown, they have conformed to the books' timeline. - Nick O'Demus 14:12, March 8, 2013 (UTC)
