Ok, so i guess my "topic" says it all. I was very surprised to find this development in the movie, as well as not finding Bill and Fleur in it. I guess i'm not the only one who wants to give the director a piece of my mind. David Yates has given much to the films about harry potter, but he is also the one that shows a somewhat resentment to follow the story written in the books. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by SynneML (talkcontribs).

I do remember reading somewhere (cannot remember where!) that the Burning of the Burrow was included in a deleted chapter of the first drafts of Half-Blood Prince (the book). So, when the filmmakers asked Jo about it, she ok'd the scene. --  Seth Cooper  owl post! 01:11, November 23, 2009 (UTC)

It seems strange that the writers of the films need to ask J.K. Rowling anything these days, what with the final book being released approximately a whole year before the Half-Blood Prince filming even began. I mean, the story is finished so why bother asking Jo (unless it's for legal reasons of course) what to or not to include in the film? The thing is, Rowling accepts the films as separate to the books (no tie-in with forum argument intended) and so I don't think she really minds having the story tweaked a little for the creative liberty of the script-writer (or director).--Yin&Yang 05:30, November 23, 2009 (UTC)

But now the Weasleys will have to either move house or re-build the house. I don't get how it will work with Deathly Hallows. --Conaboy2 07:38, December 20, 2009

Think about it, The weasleys are a magical family, I am pretty sure they can fix the house. It never showed that it was Destroyed. They could of put it out, then fixed the minor damages. it was mostly for show. -- Ratneer Owl Me! 20:40, December 20, 2009 (UTC)

Ya apparently they just used a spell similar to "Repairo"...From what I have gathered, Jo was fine with this simply for the movie because they need to have the movies make sense, and add drama in certain places for viewing pleasure, over the years there have been not only changes, but tons of adds in the movies that make no sense going forward, I guess its just another one of those situations, I really hope the two final Hallows movies stay as close to the book as possible thought...(Sirius~Sodzy 02:45, January 11, 2010 (UTC))
