Also, just to clarify, I have no problem with composite images being used for the sake of illustrating an infobox, such as on Horcrux or Deathly Hallows. That's completely different. -- 1337star (Drop me a line!) 18:12, July 18, 2012 (UTC)

:I think a case can be made for some composite images being used as long as the individual images have not been altered (beyond cropping or some brightening if they're too dark). If the colors have been edited or text has been added, then it's probably not appropriate for use on this wiki. - <font face="Monotype Corsiva" size="4" color="FF8000">Nick O'Demus</font> 05:15, July 21, 2012 (UTC)

Forums: Index > The Wizengamot > Composite images

I've noticed many articles use composite images to illustrate the "Appearances" section (here's an example). In particular, there is one editor (who I will not explicitly name out of respect) who is uploading and switching these out every few days, often using images that are unnecessarily fan edited (example). While images like that are obviously not acceptable for the mainspace, what of images like the one currently in Harry Potter above? I personally feel these images have no merit: if one wishes to see how the character (or the actor, rather) has changed over the years, one can merely look at the images already in the article's "Biography" section. Conversely, however, if it is decided these images do have merit, we should be consistent and use them for every character, or at least every Hogwarts-age character, that appears in a majority of the films.

Also, just to clarify, I have no problem with composite images being used for the sake of illustrating an infobox, such as on Horcrux or Deathly Hallows. That's completely different. -- 1337star (Drop me a line!) 18:12, July 18, 2012 (UTC)
