I was looking around at the articles, and I realized that the articles on the books--from Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone to Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows--are organized differently. Some have the plot as one section, while others have them divided according to the chapters. Some have the storyline section titled as Sypnosis while others have it as Plot. I think we should agree on some guidelines so that these articles can be organized properly so that they are somewhat similar in style. What do you think? - I agree. Several of the book articles don't even have infoboxes. 23skidoo 14:45, October 4, 2009 (UTC)
- The film articles seem to be just as messy as the book articles. The order, the titles... everything is different from article to article. One didn't even include a plot section. We really need to work on these. QuidditchLover(My talk)(contribs) 03:04, October 5, 2009 (UTC)
- We might want to consider basing the organization of our novel articles on that used on Wikipedia: "Synopsis" (description of plot), "Background" (information on JRK's writing process), "Release" (leaks, marketing, midnight parties), "Reception" (critical reviews, sales, awards).
I agree, I think it is vital to have the article clean because lets face it that's what a main part of the wiki is based on, the information from the novels and films. I agree with Starstuff to use the Wikipedia style to write the article. Ultimately it is the best way. I will be available to help or organize the articles later today. UPDATE: I can't start the articles right now very busy. --Profiteor 13:13, October 5, 2009 (UTC)
- I think that creating a layout guide for book articles is a good idea. I remember the idea being floated a few years ago, but nothing ever came of it. We might also consider the possibility of creating individual articles for each chapter, allowing greater detail of plot and setting to be placed in these articles, leaving the book article as a general "overall" look at the book in question. - Cavalier One(Wizarding Wireless Network) 21:07, October 8, 2009 (UTC)
