I'm curious as to which Death Eater was stuck in the Time Turners and forced to age and become younger repeatedly. Whether this was a permanent infliction, I don't know, but it did keep him incapacitated for the battle at least. Only 10 Death Eaters out of 12 were in the room with the archway, which leads me to believe that Nott and the Baby Death Eater were the ones absent. I'll list the twelve Death Eaters, and by order of elimination, we should be able to determine which it was.

  • Lucius Malfoy - Obvious reasons
  • Bellatrix Lestrange - Obvious reasons
  • Rodolphus Lestrange - Was with Bellatrix
  • Rabastan Lestrange
  • Mulciber - Was with Malfoy
  • Avery - Was with MacNair
  • Rookwood - Dueled Kingsley later on
  • Jugson - Fought alongside Dolohov
  • Dolohov - participated in a later skirmish, was distracted by Baby Death Eater
  • Crabbe Snr.
  • Nott - injured before conflict
  • MacNair - Fought in a later skirmish

This determines that either Crabbe Senior or Rabastan Lestrange was the Baby-Death Eater. It would certainly explain why one of them does not participate in the Battle of Hogwarts. Toon Ganondorf (t c) 22:36, 25 April 2009 (UTC)

  • This means there is a high chance it was Rabastan Lestrange because Crabbe Jr. would have mentioned about it in some way or another. 90.211.84.250 09:07, 26 April 2009 (UTC)
I agree that the baby-headed Death Eater is most likely Rabastan Lestrange or Crabbe Sr. Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be a way of determining which one it was whose head was turned into a baby (which, incidentally, actually occurred because Hermione knocked him into a bell jar in the Time Chamber with a Stunning Spell). There is an excellent essay on this subject by Kendall Smiley on the HP Lexicon, if anyone's interested. Oread (talk) 16:05, 26 April 2009 (UTC)
I think the logic used to work out that Rabastan and Crabbe Sr. were the two Death Eaters in the Time Chamber is solid enough for it to be mentioned in the "Behind the scenes" sections of both character's articles. Starstuff (Owl me!) 08:44, 27 April 2009 (UTC)
I agree. I've added mentions to both articles. Oread (talk) 23:14, 27 April 2009 (UTC)\
I think it was Crabbe Sr. Rabastan is said to be a thin man while the baby-headed Death Eater's arms are said to be thick. Which would fit if he looks anything like his son. Also, Harry saw Rabastan in the Pensieve alongside Rodolphus, Bellatrix, and Barty Crouch Jr. and probably would have recognized him once his mask was off (as he does Dolohov, whom the book refers to by name once his mask is off).
