Forums: Index > The Wizengamot > American Wizards

Can anybody tell me where exactly all the American, Russian, Chinese, and etc. are? A few billion muggles, there has to be a multitude of wizards. I am sure that the Wizarding Wars would be a ton easier with a million or so extra wizards wouldn't they?Antonin Dolohov 03:45, 15 December 2008 (UTC)Antonin Dolohov

Well first, it isnt their country so they probably wouldnt want to get involved IF they even knew about...

Other countries didn't know about it... —The preceding unsigned comment was added by LordAidan (talkcontribs) 04:24, 10 July 2009.

Foreign Wizards and Witches are discussed in the 4th book when they all go to the Quidditch world cup. There are American witches from Salem as far as I remember. Lysander Scamander 20:48, 10 July 2009 (UTC)

I find it hard to believe that the international wizarding community didn't know what was going on in Britain under Voldemort's regime. It's not like nations in the wizarding world are completely isolationist: there is cultural exchange, in the form of the Quidditch World Cup and Triwizard Tournament, and political cooperation, in the form of the International Confederation of Wizards. As for why other nations did not intervene in the Second Wizarding War, it's possible that non-intervenionism is a universally-accepted foreign policy in the wizarding world, or that Voldemort and his allies were able to prevent foreign witches and wizards from entering the country.
