What is the difference between the adult version of the harry potter books and the children's version?

I'VE BEEN DYING TO KNOW THIS FOR YEARS!

(or am i just an idiot for not knowing?) —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Showtimeusagirl11 (talkcontribs).

It's just the covers that are different. The content are identical! —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Sophiesmummy (talkcontribs).

Right...yeah-you're a bit stupid 4 not knowing that they're the same contents. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 88.111.88.209 (talkcontribs).

I don't think it's stupid. "Adult version" implies that there's something different about that version of the story. I thought that same thing for five minutes myself. Mafalda Hopkirk 04:19, 4 June 2008 (UTC)

Mafalda is right. There is something else thats different than the cover. I think it's more about "adult talking" meaning that kids would not understand it. Plus a possibility of swear words included in the adult version but very few or none in the childrens version. Aguabottle 04:42, 4 June 2008 (UTC)

You know, if we actually had conrete examples of the differences this would be a good thing to add to each book article page. -- DarkJedi613 (Talk) 14:46, 4 June 2008 (UTC)
I think the only thing different about the grown-up versions is the cover. They were designed for older readers who didn't want to be seen carrying around a book with a bright, cartoony illustration on its front. -Starstuff 15:04, 4 June 2008 (UTC)
Really, it's just because it wouldn't appeal to kids, a dark cover wouldn't appeal to a kid and a bright cover wouldn't appeal to an adult. Akira Otomo Talk | Contributions 19:48, 19 June 2008 (UTC)
I know for a fact (because i have both versions) that only the cover and font size is different.Me_Potter_Fan (Talk) 10:50, 26 June 2008 (UTC)

I didn't know there was an adult book. and i'm not dumb for not knowing. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Hermione821 (talkcontribs).
