A Folio Bruti, or the Book of Beasts[1] is a book (a bestiary, to be precise), which provides basic information on various beasts and plants.

History

In 1992, Arthur Weasley gave one to Harry Potter and taught him the Informous Charm (a charm that is used to complete the Folio Bruti), as a reward for de-gnoming the garden. In 1993, Professor Remus Lupin gave Harry Potter a Folio Bruti. There was no use of the Informous Charm, because the pages already existed. They were scattered all around Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, Harry had to find them, along with Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley.
