Flint is the surname of a pure-blood wizarding family, and one of the Sacred Twenty-Eight. They are related to the Black, Burke, Gamp, and Bulstrode families.[1]

Etymology
Flint is a type of hard sedimentary rock, often used for tools in the Stone Age and to make fire, since it produces sparks when struck.
