Flint is the surname of a Pure-blood wizarding family, and one of the Sacred Twenty-Eight. They are related to the Black, Burke, Gamp, and Bulstrode families.[1]
Family Members
- Marcus Flint — a Slytherin student who attended Hogwarts during Harry Potter's first, second and third years. Marcus was also the captain of the Slytherin Quidditch team.
- Ursula Black née Flint — wife of Phineas Nigellus Black
Etymology
- Flint is a type of hard sedimentary rock, often used for tools in the Stone Age and to make fire, since it produces sparks when struck.
