- "As a surprise for Harry, they had painted a large banner on one of the sheets Scabbers had ruined. It said 'Potter for President', and Dean, who was good at drawing, had done a large Gryffindor lion underneath. Then Hermione had performed a tricky little charm so that the paint flashed different colours."
- — Description[src]
This charm (incantation unknown) caused paint to flash different colours. It was considered "tricky" for a first year student at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.[1]
Known uses[]
Hermione Granger used this charm to make the Gryffindor banner flash different colours for the Quidditch match that Gryffindor played against Slytherin in her first year of school.[1]
Possible uses[]
- It might have been this charm which Hermione used to make the various squares on their revision schedules flash different colours as they prepared for O.W.L.s in 1996.
- It is possible that the Colour-Change Ink had been enchanted with this charm.
