A flamingo is a type of pink bird, famous for standing on one leg for large periods of time and also for having a particularly long neck.
In the Transfiguration O.W.L. exam in 1996, Hannah Abbott accidentally transfigured her ferret into a flock of flamingos, which resulted in the exam being paused while they were rounded up.
