Flailtail Snails are large, light blue snails with brownish shells. They presumably get their name from their habit of attacking intruders with a swipe of their tails. They could be found within the dungeons of Hogwarts Castle. They could be combated with a variety of offensive spells, though they showed more resistance to the Knockback Jinx than similar creatures.[1]
Etymology
Flailtail Snails are presumably named such for the rhyming pattern of the three parts of their name.
