This wand was eight and three quarters inches long, made of yew with a unicorn hair core. It was created by Garrick Ollivander sometime prior to 31 July, 1991, who deemed it a powerful wand. It was up for sale in his wand shop Ollivanders in Diagon Alley.[1]
Behind the scenes[]
- In Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, it is said that Harry Potter tried out many wands in Ollivanders before finding the right one.[2] Therefore, despite this wand not being explicitly mentioned in the book, it was one of the various unnamed wands Harry tried.
- If Harry had been chosen by this wand, he would have had a wand with the same wood as Voldemort rather than one with the same core. However, it is unlikely that the two wands had wood from the same tree, so they would not have been "brothers" as the one that eventually picked Harry would be to Voldemort's. It is also unknown if wands produced from the same tree have any special relationship like twin core wands do.
