A wheelchair is a device designed that allows a person unable to walk to move around. It consists of a chair with a wheel on either side, which could be propelled by the user manually by spinning the wheels, or by being pushed from behind by a walking person.[1]
History[]
Stephen Hawking, the author of A Brief History of Time, had to use a wheelchair as a result of being paralysed by the degenerative condition Lou Gehrig's disease.[2]
Natsai Onai, a Hogwarts student in the 1890s, used a wheelchair while recovering from her injuries caused by the Cruciatus Curse.[3]
Murphy McNully, a Hogwarts student in the 1980s, used a wheelchair.[4]
A wheelchair could be found in Poppy Pomfrey's office.[5]
Minerva McGonagall temporarily used a wheelchair at St Mungo's while recovering from being struck simultaneously by four Stunning Spells in 1996.[6]
In his old age, Amos Diggory used a wheelchair.[7]
