The Giant Fire Crab was a larger variation of the Fire Crab. It was endemic to the rainforest in Fiji, and had been near extinction due to hunting by unscrupulous wizard poachers.[2]
History[]
In Marauding with Monsters, Gilderoy Lockhart conveys the tale of how he was confronted with a horde of Fire Crabs, while campaigning to save the Giant Fire Crabs but stopping to perform "certain urgent ablutions" under a banyan tree.[2] The veracity of these events is doubtful, given Lockhart's theft of other people's achievements.[4]
