Eyeballs are globular organs that detect light, and send that information to the brain via electric impulses, in order to form an image of the surrounding environment.[6]
History[]
Eyeballs could be used as an ingredient in potion-making: there were several boxes of eyeballs in the Potions Classroom and on the shelves of potion ingredients in the Dungeons at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.[1]
In September 1993, a Boggart manifested as bloody eyeball during Remus Lupin's first third year Defence Against the Dark Arts lesson with Gryffindors, among other forms.[7]
