"He hurried over to Ron, bent down, tapped Ron's leg with his wand and muttered 'Ferula'. Bandages spun up Ron's leg, strapping it tightly to a splint."
— Lupin's use on Ron[src]

Ferula is a healing spell used to bind and splint broken limbs. It apparently eases pain as well. It was used by Remus Lupin in the spring of 1994, when he cast this spell on Ron Weasley. Lupin used the spell to conjure a wooden rod and bandages to help support Ron's broken leg. The spell is described as "bandages spinning ... snapping tightly to a splint".

Etymology

  • Latin "ferula" meaning "a stick" or "a rod".
