Ferula is a charm used to bandage and splint broken bones[2]. It apparently eases pain as well[1]. It was used by Remus Lupin in the spring of 1994 on Ron Weasley to support Ron's broken leg[1].
Etymology
The Latin term "ferula" means "a stick" or "a rod".
