This woman was a Death Eater who was summoned to the graveyard in Little Hangleton on the night of June 24, 1995, after the newly-resurrected Lord Voldemort summoned his followers to his side.
Biography
First Wizarding War
In order to have answered Voldemort's call on the night of his return, this woman must have been a Death Eater during the First Wizarding War, and had to have somehow avoided imprisonment.
Voldemort's return
This woman arrived at the graveyard in Little Hangleton after Lord Voldemort summoned his Death Eaters there on the night of June 24, 1995. She Apparated into the area, but, unlike the other Death Eaters, was not wearing a Death Eater mask and hood.
Walking around his circled followers, Voldemort viciously greeted Crabbe, Walden Macnair and Goyle. When he came to the woman, instead of attacking her like the others, he simply looked at her as she bowed down to him, then moved on to greet Lucius Malfoy.
She witnessed Harry Potter being put under the Cruciatus Curse by Voldemort. When Harry made to escape, she stood by, as Voldemort had ordered the Death Eaters not to do anything.
Behind the scenes
- This woman was portrayed by Olivia Higginbottom in the film adaption of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.
- It is possible that this woman is Alecto Carrow, as she is one of the only known female Death Eaters and she wasn't in Azkaban at the time. However, this is unconfirmed.
- There has been some speculation that this woman is Narcissa Malfoy. However, as Rowling stated that Narcissa was not formally a Death Eater, this is unlikely.[1]
