The Fat Friar is the resident ghost of the Hufflepuff House at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. He is a jolly man and very forgiving. He first appears in 1991 when the first years are waiting for Professor McGonagall to return and the ghosts pass overhead. The Fat Friar is very fair, as he is always pleading on behalf of Peeves the Poltergeist to allow him to come to the welcome feasts despite his past wrongdoings. It is unknown if Peeves ever did except the Friar's offer. It would be rare if he did considering Peeves only listens to The Bloody Baron
