Everte Statum[3] is the incantation of a duelling spell[1]. It causes a short burst of intense pain, which can make the victim stumble, but does not cause any lasting damage[2]. Draco Malfoy used this spell against Harry Potter during the Duelling Club in 1992, despite being instructed to only use the Disarming Charm[2].
