"Mr Filch, the caretaker, has asked me to tell you that the list of objects forbidden inside the castle has this year been extended to include Screaming Yo-yos, Fanged Frisbees, and Ever-Bashing Boomerangs. The full list comprises some four hundred and thirty-seven items, I believe, and can be viewed in Mr Filch's office, if anybody would like to check it."
— Albus Dumbledore giving his start-of-term speech in 1994[src]

An Ever-Bashing Boomerang was a magical joke product that swung back to repeatedly hit the thrower. Argus Filch added these Boomerangs to the list of items banned at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry at the beginning of the 1994–1995 school year.[2]

History[]

During the 1988–1989 school year, Jacob's sibling and Jae Kim got a box of a jinxed version of Ever-Bashing Boomerangs from Mundungus Fletcher,[1] which would fly everywhere once released instead of flying back to the thrower. They later released them in the Great Hall with Tulip Karasu and Nymphadora Tonks which drove nearly everyone out of the Hall.[3]

In December 2010, Zonko's Joke Shop sold Ever-Bashing Boomerangs. Robyn Thistlethwaite snuck into the shop when she was barred under the Disillusionment Charm. She knocked the Boomerangs and they sprung to life, drawing the attention of Hrithvi.[4]
