Evangeline Orpington was Minister for Magic from 1849 to 1855.[2] According to Garrick Ollivander, she was among the most accomplished Ministers ever, and was owner of a "fine" poplar wand bought at Ollivanders Wand Shop.[3]
It was Orpington who hit upon the idea of adding a concealed platform at King's Cross Station that could only be accessed by witches and wizards.[2]
