Mr Fawley was a wizard.[1] He had at least one child, a son, Eustuce, to whom he gave his best set of gobstones to take to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Eustace lost the gobstones in a fire at the boathouse.[2]

He was part of the Fawley family, who appear in the Pure-Blood Directory.

Fawley is a name derived from the Old English word fugelere which means "hunter of wild birds, fowler".
