Harry Potter: "Mr Weasley, aren't we still underground?"
Arthur Weasley: "Yes, we are, Those are enchanted windows. Magical Maintenance decide what weather we'll get every day. We had two months of hurricanes last time they were angling for a pay raise."
— Harry talking to Arthur on their way to his hearing at the Ministry of Magic[src]

An enchanted window is a window that can be enchanted to show whatever weather one wishes to see.

The Ministry of Magic uses these windows to give the workers a sense that they are above ground, when in fact they are located below the ground. The Magical Maintenance Department is in charge of deciding what weather they will get every day. On one occasion the workers in the Magical Maintenance Department caused two straight months of hurricanes, because they desired a pay raise.[1]
