Emma Thompson (born April 15, 1959) is an Emmy, BAFTA and two time-Academy Award-winning English actress, comedian, and screenwriter. She is also a patron of the Refugee Council. She plays Sybill Trelawney in the Harry Potter films.

She was formerly married to Kenneth Branagh who played Gilderoy Lockhart in the film adaptation of Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. Emma shares a birthday (April 15) and her name with her Harry Potter co-star Emma Watson (Hermione Granger).
