Emma Thompson (born April 15, 1959) is an Emmy, BAFTA and two time-Academy Award-winning English actress, comedian, and screenwriter. She is also a patron of the Refugee Council. She plays Sybill Trelawney in the Harry Potter films.

She was formerly married to Kenneth Branagh who played Gilderoy Lockhart in the film adaption of Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. Emma shares a birthday (April 15) with her Harry Potter co-star and namesake Emma Watson (Hermione Granger).
Emma Thompson recently said that she won't return in her role as Professor Trelawney in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, instead she has stated that she would rather chose to work on a sequel to Nanny McPhee in which she writes and stars as the lead role in. [1]
