Richard Horatio Edgar Wallace (1 April, 187510 February, 1932) was an English crime writer, journalist, novelist, screenwriter, and playwright, who wrote 175 novels, 24 plays, and numerous articles in newspapers and journals.

Edgar Wallace was also the author of The Flying Squad, which Swedish translation (Kokain Nästet) Headmaster Albus Dumbledore kept in his office at Hogwarts Castle in the 1990s.[1]
