The East Wing is a large hall located on the sixth floor of Hogwarts Castle. There is a huge fireplace in the centre of the room and some portraits hung on the walls. There are portraits of Damara Dodderidge, Termeritus Shanks and Eoessa Sakndenberg, among others in this room. There are various suits of armour, which guard the room after the sun goes down. The entrance is located on the Glanmore Peakes' Corridor and it has an entryway to the room Fred and George Weasley hid the Marauder's Map. On the first night of the 1993–1994 school year, Professor Severus Snape, the Potions master, patrolled the Wing, but Harry Potter still managed to sneak past. There are two fake walls in the room that can be opened to reveal small chambers which each conceal a chest. ^[1]
