The Dungeon Corridor was a long, gloomy stone corridor that led from the narrow spiral staircase, coming down from the Viaduct Entrance, to the staircase leading down to the blank stone wall which was the entrance to the Slytherin Dungeon. The Potions Classroom, and possibly Severus Snape's office, could be found along this corridor, as well as some cells. The Slytherin Corridors were probably adjacent to this corridor.[1][2][3][4][5][6]
Behind the scenes[]
- In Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2, during the Battle of Hogwarts, Argus Filch imprisons Slytherin students within cells in this corridor, including Blaise Zabini, Pansy Parkinson, and Gregory Goyle. The corridor itself is then broken down by a rogue giant which launched an attack into the Dungeons, breaking down the cells and letting the students loose.[6] This event cannot in any way be considered canon however, as in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Professor McGongall does not imprison Slytherin students in the Dungeons before the battle, unlike in the film, but merely orders them to evacuate the school if they are unwilling to fight, along with the rest of the underage student body, with evacuating students taking the passage to the Hog's Head Inn to escape.[7]
