Dragon tartare is an hors d'oeuvre made from finely chopped, raw dragon meat. Served at the Slug Club Christmas party in 1996, this food gives the consumer bad breath, which Hermione Granger used to avoid her date that evening, Cormac McLaggen. Minutes later, when Harry Potter told Cormac, who had tried some of it himself, that they were "dragon balls," he ended up throwing up on Severus Snape's shoes, earning a month's detention from the professor.
