It was described by Mr. Ollivander as "reasonably pliant".[1] It was taken from him by Harry Potter in Malfoy Manor in 1998, which would have unforeseen and enormous consequences in Harry's final duel with Lord Voldemort.

Draco presumably received his wand from Mr. Ollivander in 1991, just prior to his first year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
In 1997, Draco cornered Albus Dumbledore atop the Astronomy Tower, disarming the Headmaster. He was under orders from Lord Voldemort to kill Dumbledore, and had made multiple attempts over the course of the year to do so, terrified for his family's safety.[2] Draco had no idea that by disarming Dumbledore, he became the master of his wand — the Elder Wand, one of the Deathly Hallows[3]. He was unable and unwilling to go through with the murder, and Severus Snape stepped in to kill Dumbledore in accordance with their secret plan[2].
In spring of the following year, Draco was home for the Easter holidays when a group of Snatchers led by Fenrir Greyback caught Harry Potter, Hermione Granger, and Ron Weasley, and brought the three of them and their other prisoners to the Malfoy Manor. In the skirmish that ensued, Draco was disarmed by Harry, who won the wand from him. Draco's mother gave him her wand to use.
