Once the Stone had been destroyed, Fluffy was set free in the [[Forbidden Forest]]. Hagrid also had a boarhound named Fang. The name didn't suit him well as even Hagrid called him a coward. Perhaps [[Fluffy]] and [[Fang]] should have each other's names. In Babbity Rabbity and her Cackling Stump, the Brigade of Witch-hunters is given a pack of wild hounds. According to W.O.M.B.A.T. a dog acting suspiciously, might be magically-trained.

Dogs are domesticated subspecies of the wolf. They are used in both the Wizarding and the Muggle worlds as pets or guardians. While normal dogs are considered harmless, some dogs like the three-headed dog Fluffy are highly dangerous. Rubeus Hagrid has a dog named Fang.

Dogs in the Wizarding world

Fluffy

Fluffy the three-headed dog.

In the Wizarding world dogs are kept as pets or may sometimes serve as guardians of certain objects. For example, during the 1991–1992 school year at Hogwarts, the three-headed dog Fluffy guarded the Philosopher's Stone. Once the Stone had been destroyed, Fluffy was set free in the Forbidden Forest. Hagrid also had a boarhound named Fang. The name didn't suit him well as even Hagrid called him a coward. Perhaps Fluffy and Fang should have each other's names. In Babbity Rabbity and her Cackling Stump, the Brigade of Witch-hunters is given a pack of wild hounds. According to W.O.M.B.A.T., a dog acting suspiciously might be magically-trained.

Dogs in the Muggle world

In the Muggle world, dogs also are kept as companions, being very faithful and, with proper training, can guard valuable objects or people. Harry Potter's uncle's sister ( Harry calls her Aunt Marge) bred bulldogs and in 1993 when she visited Vernon Dursley she brought one of her favorites who was old and rather ill tempered, named Ripper. Often in the muggle world large dogs are given feirce names to make the seem more ferocious, and small ones names such as : Mini, Frufru ,Tiny are used.

Magic that affect dogs

There are not any known spells that can affect dogs in the Wizarding world, but as Hagrid said you just have to know how to calm the beast. For example Hagrid's three headed dog, Fluffy was calmed by music.
