Changes: Disused seventh-floor bathroom

This Disused Bathroom is located on the seventh floor of Hogwarts Castle and accesible through a portrait in the reading room in Gryffindor Tower, aswell as a door on the other side of the castle. It was unused until prior to 1991, by which time Fred and George Weasley had taken up residence there and set up their own shop for Gryffindor students. In 1993, the twins abandoned the bathroom and set up their shop in a different bathroom on the sixth floor near the Study of Ancient Runes Classroom.

History

Past

The bathroom was likely created with the rest of the school by Godric Gryffindor, Salazar Slytherin, Helga Hufflepuff and Rowena Ravenclaw in Medieval times on the sixth floor near the Study of Ancient Runes Classroom. However, the bathroom fell into disuse and was no longer used. At some point, a portrait of Valeria Myriadd was installed to cover a crawlspace into the bathroom, while the proper entrance was locked. The password through the portrait was 'Pig Snout.'

Fred and George Weasley's Shop

Prior to 1991, Fred and George Weasley discovered the bathroom and made it the base of their shop. During Harry Potter's first year, the Weaslet twins' brother, Ronald Weasley, told Harry about the shop. He managed to sneak into the reading room, through the portrait of Myriadd and into the bathroom. That year, Fred and George sold a number of Famous Witch and Wizard Cards, aswell as a Bertie Bott's Every Flavour Beans bag.

The next year, the portrait had been replaced by a painting of Oracutus Spheer and the password changed to Flibbertigibbet. Once again that year, Harry Potter visited the shop. That year, the Weasley twins were selling an Alohomora Spell Book, non-explodable, luminous balloons, Stink Pellets, a Wiggenweld Potion Vial and a number of Famous Witch and Wizard Cards. After that year, Fred and George abandoned the bathroom and moved their shop to the Disused Bathroom on the sixth floor of the Castle.
