The devil is, in some religions, a bad spirit that tries to create problems for people or, in other words, is the personification of evil. The devil is often depicted as ruling over hell.

Lord Voldemort is verry similar to Damien Thorn from the Omen, The Anty-Christ (a child from the Devil).
