- "The Dept. of Security will release a 'self-defence spell guide' next week."
- — Daily Prophet headline after the January, 1996 mass breakout from Azkaban Prison.[src]
The Department of Security is a department of the Ministry of Magic. It is probably a sub-division of another department, most likely the Department of Magical Law Enforcement, and is responsible for the implementation of wizarding Great Britain defence policy.[1]
