The Department of Defence is a department of the Ministry of Magic. It is probably a sub-division of another department, most likely the Department of Magical Law Enforcement, and is responsible for the implementation of wizarding Great Britain defence policy.^[1]

In 1996, Weasley's Wizard Wheezes released Jinx-Off, a spell-protection kit which included a protective hat, cloak, and gloves, by appointment to this committee.^[1]
