A Dementor dummy is a fake Dementor that can be used for practising the Patronus Charm. Like a real Dementor or a Boggart assuming the form of a Dementor, they can be repelled and damaged with the Patronus Charm; however, they are inanimate objects that cannot drain happiness and are thus much safer than the real thing. Harry Potter used some of these dummies when teaching Dumbledore's Army the Patronus Charm.
