The Dark Force Defence League is an organization against the Dark Arts. It may or may not be directly affiliated with the Ministry of Magic.
Gilderoy Lockhart claimed to be an honorary member of this organization, but how he managed to function in it, with his inability to use magic competently, is unknown. He lost his membership when his Memory Charm backfired and erased much of his memories, which led him to be hospitalised in St Mungo's Hospital for Magical Maladies and Injuries for life.
